About Us

Alphasquare Opportunities Fund I is a close-ended Category III Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) registered with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). The fund has been set up as an irrevocable and determinate trust under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882, with Orbis Trusteeship Services Private Limited as the Trustee. The investment objective of the fund is to achieve long-term capital appreciation and dividends by investing in listed and unlisted stressed/distressed Indian companies, as well as through qualified institutional placements or initial public offerings of unlisted Indian companies. The fund may also invest in units of mutual funds, government securities, bank deposits, treasury bills, commercial papers, non-convertible debentures, and security receipts of asset reconstruction companies. Alphasquare Advisers Private Limited is the Investment Manager for the fund, while Alphasquare Worldwide Private Limited is the Sponsor. The fund has a target corpus of at least INR 250 crores, with a green shoe option of an additional INR 250 crores.

The investment strategy of the fund involves a bottom-up analysis to identify undervalued or stressed companies with the potential for turnaround. The fund aims to follow a long-only strategy, primarily focusing on listed and unlisted stressed/distressed Indian companies, as well as qualified institutional placements and IPOs of unlisted Indian companies.
